Memorial Day 2019
ADSSA’s Memorial Day breakfast ceremony at Jack Watkins Memorial Reserve was a moving and memorable observance of all the lives lost to asbestos over the years and ongoing. The weather was kind to us once again.
We would like to thank the speakers who gave their time to share their thoughts and experiences, to all those who attended the ceremony, and particularly to Phil who shared with us his diagnosis and ways of coping with mesothelioma.
ADSSA gratefully acknowledges support from the City of Port Adelaide Enfield in covering catering costs.
One mesothelioma sufferer who was not able to attend the ceremony, visited the reserve at a later date and penned this moving poem. Read his reflections here.
